Joe Clarkson’s musical career started at the age of 5 when he played percussion in his primary school orchestra. Nineteen years later and a change of instrument, he completed his undergraduate and is now studying a postgraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music in French horn.

Having performed in some impressive UK venues including the Bridgewater Hall, Symphony Hall, Cadogan Hall and Buxton Opera House, he’s also performed in Italy, Spain, Ireland, New York and Boston. Joe has also enjoyed performing with Jersey Chamber Orchestra and working alongside Northern Chamber Orchestra with performances of ‘Rossini’s La Donna Del Lago’ and Kate Whitley’s ‘Our Future in Your Hands’.

One of Joe’s career highlights was playing solo French horn in a new work for string orchestra, soprano, harp and horn, which was aired on Classic FM in August 2022.

Outside of music, Joe enjoys cooking, cars and very amateur DIY. He can normally be found walking up the side of a hill with his camera.
